Scharff Weisberg lit up the Hammerstein Ballroom when it provided stage lighting for the February 12 Bon Jovi concert benefiting Stand Up for a Cure and lung cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Stand Up for a Cure, founded by Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora, is a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating lung cancer through strategic partnerships with some of the finest medical institutions in the world.
Scharff Weisberg worked with Bon Jovi’s lighting designer Pat Brannan to furnish stage lighting for the band as well as the evening’s speakers. “We tried to reproduce as closely as we could the band’s current touring lighting rig,” notes Scharff Weisberg project manager John Healy. To that end, the company provided Martin Mac 700 moving lights, ETC Source 4 lekos and PARs, Lycian spot lights, Mole lights with color changers and grandMA consoles.
Scharff Weisberg also supplied a Mainlight high-resolution LED scrim, which displayed artistic content for the band as well as custom sponsor logo content crafted by the company. A Hippo Media Server, programmed by Scharff Weisberg’s Faith Yildiz, drove the scrim’s content.
The company delivered additional custom logo content for the organization and its sponsors, which was used in conjunction with the house branding lighting provided by the Ballroom.
Neil Ryan produced the concert for AEG.
